Good hatchbacks under 20k, only the Fiat has 2 doors. None are what you want to drive until you get the 2 or 3 thousand dollars of upgrades for a turbo, but the cheap ones all get about 36mpg

The Veloster (I have one, I traded in my base 2011 Veloster for the 2015 R Spec turbo) has 3 doors. All the rest of the cars Popular Mechanics looked at, have 4 doors and a hatchback.

Focus, Golf, Fit, Versa, Civic, Spark, Fiesta, Mazda 3 and Corolla, plus the Yaris and Impreza

Why doesn't anyone make a cool inexpensive small 2 door?

What happened to learning from the past? Ford sold millions of 1965-68 Mustangs!
VW sold millions of bugs from 1953-73! TBirds! 1954-55, they were awesome!

Everyone knows a small 2 door is fantastic, that's all Ferrari and Lamborghini have made! (okay fine, there were a couple ugly exceptions no one but argumentative know it alls can remember) Porsche, Alfa, Maserati, McLaren! They all focus on small cool 2 door cars!

Look at the entire American and European cool cars of history. 2 doors. Darts, Chargers, Road Runners, Challengers, Mustangs, Corvettes, Camaros, Trans Ams, GTOs, GNs, GSX, El Caminos
! All the cool muscle cars were mid size 2 door cars.... What the hell happened to selling cool mid size 2 doors?  Jeeps, Bronco's Scouts! Even small 4x4s were cool... What the hell happened to GM? They don't make anything cool anymore but the Corvette, Camaro... and ... nothing.
Even 2 door station wagons were cool!

Small cool 2 door cars sell like mad! So why isn't anyone making one anymore? The Fiat is a lemon, and if you won't take my word on that, look at ANY used car lot for the Fiat 500 section.
