1917 Smith Motor Wheel

First, the rusted pitting on the "machined" areas of the flywheel were machined down on the lathe  then sand blasting the entire piece to remove all rust and old plating.

Then nickel electroplating the flywheel and polishing on the high-speed fine buffing wheel.

After degreasing and removing polishing compound, gilding on the raised letters and inner ring, then gold leaf.

Lastly, hand enameled on the cast area with black paint to create the most striking and stylistically sophisticated motor from this era.
